Two new reels:

Daiwa Steez CT SV TW 700 SH (Rod: Evergreen Inspirare TKIC-67MHST-F „Black Raven SS“)
Daiwa Steez Air TW 500 XXH (Rod: Evergreen Inspirare TKIC-65MLST „Black Briar“)
I love the black series Evergreens. I’d love to try a solid tip model from that series some day. The Steez reels look right for those models.

Hopefully the pictures will work. I need to do a complete 2020 rod and reel post, but these are my two favorite spinning setups. 7'6 MML Steez rods paired with 4000 Exists LTs. I have owned a lot of high-end gear and these are my favorite purchases. I fish a for smallmouth in the Great Lakes a lot and these do it all.

Very nice. Any experience with a Certate LT? Worth the jump to an exist?

I have both. The Exist is another level, but the Certate is almost as smooth as a Stella. If I had a tip heavy rod, I wouldn't hesitate to get a Certate. I have them paired on a few NRXs for this reason.

I just picked up a Luvias LT 4000-CXH JDM and it's really nice. I have two NIB 15 Exist 3012H from last year that I have in my reel storage and just picked up through a trade with a good buddy a new with tags, in a sealed bag, Daiwa 76MML. Should I jump to a new Exist LT 4000 with it? He had three of he 76MML rods but picked up a rod sponsorship so he sold two and traded me the other. How would this rod be for fishing in the 1000 Islands in N.Y.? We have a trip planned for June so hopefully all goes well! Best wishes on the water!

What size Certate do you have? Also, see my above post with questions too! Thanks!

I have 4000, 3000, and 2500 sizes Certates. To be honest, I haven't put any of the Certates on the Steez rods. I have the 4000 on a 901 NRX for hair jigs, 3000 on a 852 NRX, and the 2500 on a 822 DSR NRX. I also have a 3000 Luvias LT.

There is a big jump from the Luvias to the Certate and a smaller jump from the Certate to the Exist. I would go with the Exist if you want a 4000 size reel due to how the rod balances. I believe the 3000 size Certate is about the same weight as a 4000 size Exist, so you could go in that direction to save some money. There is a slight advantage in line management and casting distance with a 4000 size reel.

I haven't fished Lake Ontario, but I fish Green Bay and the Bay de Noc. You will love the rod for smallmouth. It does everything very well. I use the NRX rods mostly for inland fishing for largemouth. The 901 comes into play with hair jigs. The action is more parabolic than the Steez, so you can whip out the lighter lures better.

I held out looking for a used Steez XBD, but settled on a the Ish Tatula Elite frog rod. I'm guessing this rod was based on the XBD frog rod. It has a nice tip to work the baits.

Just couldn’t justify it since I maybe use spinning once a year. Got a certate LT on a XX shakyhead and needed something for drop shot so I picked up a Kage and a Loomis DSR

The Certate is an awesome reel.

My wife slammed one of my Steez rods' EVA butt in the tailgate as we were packing up to head home from the cabin. She didn't understand why I was so upset on the 4.5 hour ride home. The blank seems to be fine and the foam is crunched a little. Does anyone have experience with Daiwa's rod warranty if a crack happened under the foam?
