Thanks! It’s a fun reel. I always wanted a black limited but people complained about the paint so I’ve held off but wanted a Z. I love high speed reels and this one is just different looking.

If EDM rods are of interest, here you see some of my Daiwas (not “all them”). They are the “mostly purple accent” Daiwas most used for pike and perch (and some day zander).

^Yes, I really like that rod. I find all my XR rods to be great value for money - very light, great balance and also good sensitivity. I got mine from KL Angelsport in Germany where they were on sale.
Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
This site is so focused on bass fishing, and the one piece rod mentality, that we forget that many other fishermen and places prefer two piece rods. There a lot of cool/high quality two piece rods marketed in other areas of the world, but I can't remember seeing a good one in a U.S. tackle shop in my area in a long time. We sold the custom quality Kencor rods in a couple of the shops that I worked in the early 90's. Those were nice. My lifelong trout fishing buddies actually make fun of me because I demand a one piece rod for everything. One piece rods aren't fun to hike with or cut your way through the brush when you are trying to get to a fishing spot.

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
Seeing the 2 piece rods above reminded me of something. At the risk of going off-topic, I have a rather unique 2 piece rod that will go with me to my final rest. This started life as an Abu Olympian salmon steelhead rod. It had this huge, fat cork handle and a TCS reel seat, along with big double foot SS304 guides. I had a builder completely strip it and update it-ACS reel seat, Alconite guides going down to micros and an EVA grip with counterbalance on the butt. I know y'all are gonna ask why I spent all that $$$ on an inexpensive rod. Well, I bought the rod to throw big spinnerbaits at a private lake that I fish, but can't put a boat into. This rod allowed me to make longer casts to cover more water. I ended up catching my PB largemouth on this rod, which went 13-2. I still use it occasionally at my ponds and also at the beach. It will absolutely launch anything from 3/8 to 1.5 oz., which is why I still take it to the beach.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

How long is that rod? Did you catch that 13-2 on a blade?hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 5:51 pmSeeing the 2 piece rods above reminded me of something. The age old problem of reaching the middle of small bodies of water from the shore has been the story of my life. I often have to wade in the summer when fish are on the outer grass lines, but that ain't happening in the winter . I have used the float tube on the golf course lakes where I can get away with it. The introduction of the 8' swimbait rods helped this situation. I have used them as a salmon rod also because I don't fish for salmon enough to have a dedicated rod. I have contemplated building up a 10 foot rod, but I haven't seen any blanks that I want.
Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
Hoohoorjoo, nice story with the ABU rod. I have several 1-piece rods (mainly Loomis and St Croix), but the rods that have given me the greatest memories are all 2/multi-piece. In Denmark, and most of EU, 1-piece rods have been hard to find until quite recently. All my Daiwa rods are 2 or 3-piece EDM and JDM.

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
Thanks guys, I have enjoyed the rod when I do get to use it. It is 8'3". It was 8-6, but I broke 3" off it years ago. And yes, my PB was caught on a Stanley spinnerbait.

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
Here's my little casting crew, will post spinning another time. Cleared out a couple of others lately, and still have a few upgrades planned to these. Considering a new one too- still never owned a steez casting reel- maybe one of them? Wouldn't mind a PX-R or a few more Alphas' too.
Left to right-
TD Ito 103M. SV Spool, purple brake dial, level wind cap/screw, cast control cap, Carbontex. Need a swept handle and a new drag star.
Tatula 100XS 60th edition. Stock. Got a DIY spool coming.
Zillion HD TW- stock.
Alphas R-Edition- PXR line guide, red level wind cap/screw. Going to order an SV105 CC cap and a new drag star. Might go a pink build.
Alphas R-Edition- my favourite. Megabass Hyper Corks, SLP drag star, PXR CC cap, Rays DIY Spool, PXR line guide, and every screw/dial is red. Going to upgrade to Carbontex and upgrade bearings.
Zonda 68R- mostly stock just small screw colours changed.
I'm pretty happy with this collection since I had never modified a reel a year ago and only just starting collecting casting reels at 17!

Nice collection you got there. You like both left and right hand?breamtim wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 11:04 pmHere's my little casting crew, will post spinning another time.
