You actually getting somewhere on the scorpion DC bfs project? Or maybe the ZPI metanium?
Nah not that. And yes it's something I'm getting not building so...it will look good as well not like the usual abominations I come up with. :D

Scorpion DC BFS was completed but in the end I just don't believe DC is a good application for bait finesse.

Heres mine so far, it still needs some hedgehog air bearings but otherwise does pretty good on my Recon 712L. Its rockin a pixy v spool at the moment.

Awesome mods, Matt! =D> Let us know how it fishes. I have been considering a BFS XG for awhile now.

I've recently gotten a ktf spool off tt.com for my 50E reel and I need help with selecting the best bearings
For the reel. Any suggestions, as I plan on using 6-8# floro (not sure what lures but the rod for now is the old cork crucial drop shot seven foot casting rod.) I'm looking for a handle as well. I liked my pixy type R so much all I did was the worm gear bearing but I don't finesse fish with it however the 50E will be a true finesse reel.

Hedgehog Air bearings or Air BFS to save a little money if it is a true finesse reel.

The Semper Fi handles are nice, as are the Avails.

The rod and reel had to comply with a few parameters.
SW use, vertical & horizontal presentations, ability for hard/rapid casts.
Then it just has to be best it can be.
We've come up with this, a working rod prototype and a reel dubbed ISA.
Here is what it looks like:

And here is what it does :

Thank you Ian and Aaron for making this happen!

How can you tell if your spool is magnesium or not besides soaking it in saltwater for a week?

That's a nice D7, the blue really pops on it.. I like that..
