This arrived today. Very happy with this on first impression.
It's got all the good traits of the old model as well as some exceptional improvements. And it is as good as the 50 ergonomically in my hand if not a little better because of the flat ported top section for the thumb.

On a positive note I'm sure there will be yumea handles in sizes people actually want, for a hectic price.
I did expect a small handle but then on the box it's got every shimano distributors website which makes me think this might not be purely for the JDM. In which case I think it's a odd size choice.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Looking at the gearbox side pic I was thinking at least a 80mm ...

That thing must really be a bit smaller in hand vs original 100.

Just went to Shimano Jp ... Guess I should of looked here before asking. Looks like the 200 has a 84mm at least.

Enjoy your new toy ! 8-)

Very nice indeed.

It does sit higher on the rod than the old 50 no? Looking at the side by side, the reel foot does appear to be lower on the new 100 in comparison. Still, a decent trade off for the extra line capacity. (if one needs it).

Wonder how much smaller the palm side of the new 2015 50 CQ will compared to the older older one?

Micro gearing has to make it one sooth operator. :D

Looks like the 100 sits a little higher than the 50. Awesomely elegant reel nonetheless.

Nice set up! How smooth is it? Have you cast it yet?
