Custom Otterods NFC White Python Slant Bridge

Frequenting the forum, Redlinerobert’s Frakenrod served as inspiration for my next custom rodThe opportunity did not present itself for some time, until May of this year (2015).
Rod started life as the only two piece White Python with separation above the 2nd guide. Purchased it from treadwellpat from his for sale thread. Consulted with Mattman, of Otterods fame, and sent the tube out for an inspection. Was hoping to keep it stock, but as a two piece rod. Consultation indicated that it was a no go.
In wanting to keep with the lure rating of the SB WP and length at 7’6”, Mattman recommended the NFC SWB 807-1 IM. Funds were sent, parts were ordered, and then the wait.

Wait wasn’t as long as I was lead to believe. Rod was sent to Matt in May, and I received the rod at the middle of this month.

Haven’t had a chance to fish it, but it feels a tad faster than the stock SB WP.

Very awesome. I was seconds behind you on that rod, would have made a nice SB C40. This turned out sweet though!

Thanks. That SB C40 does sound sweet though. Awesome job on your acquisition as well. I would not have been as brave to cut that MB rod :lol:

Thanks for all the compliments guys! I have since swapped the '12 Antares with a Calais DC. Balances way better and holds way more line

Custom rising son? Love throwing a BH RS on my 1 piece white python. A tad faster won't be a bad thing
