What are those stems on the spinning reels, on the opposite side of the handles?

A rare Daiwa traitor. Aaron Martens would be proud of you. It's a good thing that this site doesn't have reputation points/ratings. ;) So, are you going to or coming from the dark side? Would you consider yourself an Anakin or a Finn? Please make sure that you or ZPI get that Stella filled to full capacity because it looks a little low to compete in a casting contest with a Steez. :big grin:

Absolutely beautiful stuff and congrats on the Hedgehog. I got one too and can't wait to try it out. Love the feel in hand and the balance with a Stella.

Pardon my ignorance, but do you take off the reel stand while fishing or do you keep it on? I'm not familiar with these at all and can't figure out if they play a role only if the reel is off the rod...

I must say that the TT community is just wonderful and it keeps amazing me with how "deep" folks are on here in all facets of gear and fishing (e.g., not sure where else I would have learned about the ZPI reel stand). Definitely humbling and not good on the wallet [-X

I recognize a few of those reels from instagram. Do you happen to be more specifically from Toronto? If so i love your Instagram page!

I believe it's for leaning on the carpeted front deck of the boat. Like a kickstand for a bike. Looks awesome and keeps the bail from being pushed against the deck which could cause it to open on you.
