Cabin Fever Part 2... J-Dreaming of Megabass
With season openers still a few weeks away, the wait can get intolerable. Cleaning, organizing, and displaying some of the gear helps scratch the itch, but I'm definitely counting down the days.
Here are the some of the rods/reels in my line-up that make my J-Dreams come true on the water
Evoluzion C40 Griffon Evolution & 6.3
Evoluzion Ti Super Griffon Stage II & 6.3
Evoluzion Ti Red Demon & 7.9
X4 Destruction & 7.9
PIII Nautilus & 6.3
X7 Extreme Mission & 7.9
X7 The Destruction & 7.9
Thanks for looking!

Re: Cabin Fever Part 2... J-Dreaming of Megabass
So....do you like the J-dream?????
Seriously, What do you think of the X7 Destruction? What are your primary uses? Does it feel or fish anything like a longer X4 Destruction?

Re: Cabin Fever Part 2... J-Dreaming of Megabass
Usually I'd find a 7'10 rod to be on the verge of too long to be fished comfortably, but the thin blank of the X7 allows for great balance, especially with the heavier JDream. The blank also doesn't leave much to look for in terms of strength for being that thin, it has as much power as I need from it.Tigerbass wrote:So....do you like the J-dream?????

It's main use in my lineup is for dragging football jigs and ten or even twelve inch worms, along with whatever other heavier t-rigged plastic I feel like throwing and dragging deep. It is freakin sweet for big sweeping hook sets, the added length is so satisfying. The taper is actually pretty similar to that of the X4 Destruction, but has a slightly slower transition into the backbone. The X4 also feels a lot beefier, with the thicker blank, full double-footed guides, and rated an ounce and a quarter heavier. The X7 blank feels more crisp and responsive than the X4, but that's probably to be expected at their price points and expectations. Neither are slouches, which is why I have both
