It has been warm, so I went fishing........

and caught this sow! 9 lbs 14 oz on my Rapala scale! I was so rattled that I took the pic with my phone upside down! She was laying a foot off the bank, under a big log that was parallel to the dam. For perspective, that rod is 9.5" from butt to back edge of reel seat. A quick pic, then back in the water.

The rod is the Nero 68L. The reel is an Alphas SV with a few mods. 8-)

Yes, it's a hand-made bait from a friend in Arkansas. He poured the lead, painted the head, made the skirt and assembled it, the whole nine yards.

Dang nice toad! Congrats! Bet that was fun on that Nero 68L/Alphas SV Combo! =D>

Can I ask, What's the weight of the spinnerbait & what is your choice of line?

Awesome catch! She will be well over 10 before the spawn, so I think its fair to say you caught a double digit bass :)
