My First TD-Z

Post by papabassin » Wed Feb 22, 2017 11:57 am

My recently acquired mint TD-Z 103ML. Thanks again, Ryan (Teal101)!

When I started my journey for my first TD-Z, I always kind of thought I'd acquire a beater TD-Z, get a fancy paint job for it & just tune it up a little. Then Ryan put this beauty in front of my face...She was just too damn gorgeous to paint. But rest assured, she still got sent off for some new bling and a performance boost!

Special thanks goes out to Gary from The Tackle Trap (Bronzefly) for helping me make both cosmetic and performance decisions. As always, fantastic to work with. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out. So Fresh, So Clean!

Here is a list of the upgrades:
Supertuned by Bryan (PikeRoadBassn)
7:1 Brass Gears
High Speed Level Wind
92mm ZPI Swept Carbon Fiber Handle
RCS I-Shape Cork Knobs
Zillion Type R Drag Star
Steez 103HA Spool (R+ Inductor)
ZPI Spool Bearings
Carbontex Drag

Excellent, glad that beauty landed in the right hands. That should be a stellar piece to fish.
I like TD-Z's

I'm super jealous that you lefties can put 7.1 ratio gears in your TD-Zs. Very nice looking reel.

Doesn't that piss you off. I want the 7.1 for one of my Fuego's.

This reel looks even better in person! Thank you for the opportunity to use some creative license in putting together something special for you. Great rod pairing for such an amazing piece, enjoy that fantastic combo!!
