I've always liked the hidden purple plate on the backside of the magnets on the Zonda reels. I think it reads "MEGABASS MAGNERIDE BRAKE SYSTEM"

Thanks. My whole venture into tuning an Abu ended up costing a lot more than I anticipated but I had fun long story short:

I picked up a used Fanatista Deez rod from bass.co.jp because I was actually after a new Jackson Super Ttricker they had and they can ship two rods in one tube for the same price. I then used this as a excuse to pick up an Abu reel to throw blue colored tuning parts at. I always wanted to tune up a Revo with ZPI parts. There are just so many parts for those reels.

I ended up with a used 3rd gen Revo Elite IB with the dual aluminum side plates and chrome finish. I went with this one to see what the high end Doyo Coba platform is all about. I've been curios about high end Doyos for years. I threw both aliexpress and hedgehog blue parts on it and found a blue 12 gram Abu Deez IVCB spool in ebay as part of a kit with spool and tension knob. I just needed to convert the palming plate to the IVCB centrifugal race from the factory Doyo dual brake and I was done.

This lead to finding a 3rd gen MGX for a little under $100 from bass.co.jp to rob the centrifugal race out of which seemed like a no brainer. Now I can use some of the parts I had laying around and pick up an aliexpress spool too to convert the MGX into a BFs reel on the cheap. Well that did't quite work out as well as I had hoped and I had to spend an additional $100 for one of the last purple Avail spools that will fit this narrow frame 3rd gen reel. I guess there are both narrow spool and wide spool 3rd gens. I ended up $50 over budet on the MGX and it is still not done but it looks good so far. The Elite IB IVCB turned into a money pit but it was fun and I like the reel and rod a great deal.

I try to stay away from these as they can get addicting way too quick but I saw this one and just had to have it this one's called Purple Rain and it matches perfectly with my purple hyuga's and reel setups 8-) such a playful fun little colorway I'll try to get some shots of it in the sun but I'm like a vampire early this morning and don't want to quite get vaporized by the Arizona Sun

Can't get enough of that Hyuga and Daiwa purple together. I'm really thinking about picking up another Hyuga. Still holding out for re-release of the Levantes.

Got the $58 T3 MX in from bass.co.jp. Stole the purple parts off it for my SS SV105.

5 stars. This is some of the best/cleanest custom work I’ve seen.
