Craigthor: No. I have not seen the new Smith BST and I am at the point where I have to close my eyes to new tackle
I have been buying way too much new stuff... Happens almost every winter in anticipation of the coming season.
Hoohoorjoo: This I have to see though

Just in case you need something to drool over for a bit.

Drooling... I actually find the handles a bit nice and intriguing but I am not sure they go well with the green/chartreuse parts on the rod.

Been checking out the ASC for my first BFS reel, just didn't know how it did distance casting. A lot of my "BFS" is a small swimbait or crappie plastic with a 3/32 or 1/16 head and I know the ASC is shorter on line capacity...

I find that the ASC does great with distance casting. It will not give you a lot of line. Still, use a thin braid as the 0.10mm J-Braid I used on my recent trip and you should get approx. 50 meters of line, which is more than enough for me. I throw a 3-4 gram spoon perhaps 20 meters.
I have read and heard many co-anglers praise the short-range accuracy of the ASC - in my book it does just as well with BFS distance casting (with the right rod and line)...

I think the ASC is a better bfs reel all around for distance and accuracy compared to the AIR, the lighter the lure the more of a difference. Spool startup force is much less with the ASC which is what leads to the excellent short pitch accuracy. Yes the line capacity is low but as long as you use 4lb test diameter or less its really not an issue.

I agree. I use 4# with mine and it is more than enough line. I was using 6# and it was just barely enough but still worked just fine.

What length/power/action are all of the rods??? Would enjoy a breakdown of your BFS collection...

Mine is on a the 64UL/BF Regular Fast MS-X. Sweet bass rod, which is its primary purpose, but it's also panfish capable. It will launch a 2g Rapala Original Floater. Not sure about going lower.

I really like that rod series, just a lot for me to spend on 2nd BFS rod. Would still rather try the Corzza first, but it STILL hasn't been in stock. My main question would be whether to buy an UL or L power.

BFS rod buying can be tricky. Using braid to "stiffen" up a rod or mono/FC to "soften" a rod works pretty good.
I got 5 BFS setups. All rods were never felt before buying or building them. I got my bases covered from micro BFS up to traditional bass BFS.
