Those are gorgeous. Were they made by Hattori Hanzo? If I would've known I could get a custom like that, I would have by now. I'm surprised there aren't JDM rods with that traditional Japanese styling. You and your rod builder are definitely onto something. Ray skin? Sword builders call it Samé. Sir, that is not a grip. It's a Tsuka. You guys need to market an entire rod line and christen them Tachi, Katana, Wakizashi, Tanto, Daito, etc... Include sleeves, but call them Scabbards... Call it the Cherry Blossom series. Then maybe release a line of blade baits called Shuriken...

Yes. ;) A tsuka was the inspiration for the grip. Actually, the builds we're named Tanto, Tessen, Jo and the Matsuba (pine needle), and the builds had my hanko on them. You can search the S&T forum for the original posts, but sadly Photobucket has left them bereft of images.

I want to make a swimbait rod called the Kanabo. :lol:
