Recently picked up my first Zbone. Just happened to have a lonely Core 50mg7, supertuned with a few extra red HH Studios parts laying around. The two match well and should be a good jig and plastics setup. I believe the total weight is around 9.3 oz. Not bad, given both are a bit older.

I love fishing with sub 10oz combos. It makes a difference after a long day of fishing. Those 50 sized cores are one of Shimano’s best reels. Good stuff!

I wish kistler would have stayed with those materials/handles on their new zbone blanks. I liked those so much more, but sadly parted ways with my casting ZB. Still have a spinning model and it looks/has held up better than my newer model 76h despite ca. 4 yr use difference.

I agree 100%. That marbleized cork was nice looking AND wore very well. However, those grips were too fat for my personal taste, so I had mine turned down a little by a local rodbuilder. The overall poor quality cork is why I dont own any recent Kistler rods today, and I dont care for the Winn Grips, either.
