(10) 2020 Shimano Metanium XG's
hmm...too frugal to spring for the Antares AR's..
The other answer would be that line capacity sucks on the Antares....

According to the Shimano Jp website, they both have 34mm x 19mm spools....maybe the Met USA version is different, but I doubt it.

I know I know. I don't like them myself but at times they have their purpose.

Caught my first fish on that rig this weekend. So it's broke in. Really like the new casting rods I built.

I havent used my shimano discount codes yet, but I won't be buying near that much stuff when I do. That's a stockpile. I used to be a guy who wanted all my stuff to match for a congruent lineup, so I can appreciate that.

These are codes from a shimano rep. We used to call them 'pro-staff' deals (even though you aren't actually a staffer), where you get a form to order 10 or 12 items at 50% off. Now days they give you a code to order directly from the manufacturers website. The shimano codes come 2 per flyer and you can order 6 items per code. 50% off rods...40 off reels. The harder to get daiwa code is 10 items at 50%.

My counting could be wrong, but I think there is a rod without a partner. Next purchase?
Yeah, your counting is off. 19 rod/reel combos and they all have partners. No new purchases right now, but I did just get all 5 of my custom F5 swimbait rods....
