Sol

Post by D.R. » Sun May 21, 2006 10:42 am

Just a few pictures of the Sol after the upgrades and mod.
Sol 1

Sol 2

The Sol looks great on my Elite 68XM (sweet finesse setup).

The changes to the Sol are as follows.
Alphas ito spool, German ceramic high speed oil-less spool bearings, Worm shaft bearing (replaced plastic holder), TD-Z 4 bearing handle w/cork Knobs, orange accented handle nut retainer/knob caps/and star drag.

Looks Gr8 D.R. I especially like what you did with the TD-Z handle...my kind of color highlights! :D

What are you going to string it with? Let us know how it fishes. 8-)

I don't see any reason why your Sol shouldn't outperform an Alphas Ito...let us know if it does.

I put Yo-Zuri Hybrid 10# green line on it.

I can't wait to finish the Fuego I am working on. It will go on my new (happy Fathers day earley) BCR803. I already have the leval wind bearing in and a Alphas ito handle w/bearing on it. I am looking for a upgrade spool for it.

Boone,

I swaped spools with my Alphas ito. I use the ito for drop shot fishing and don't need the long cast.

The brake sys on the Sol and the ito are the same. I had them both apart and measured and weighed all the parts. Both the same just dif. colors.

I just went out into the yard to check just how far I could throw it.

3/8 oz practice plug, 10# Yo-Zuri, brake set to about 1/4. I de-spooled it without much effort. I had to walk about 50 ft. to pick up the end of the line and wind it back up.

This thing is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
