I've thrown swimbaits, and glides baits now and then and have not caught a bass on one, till earlier this evening.
Used a 1oz Ima glide bait, swam it, did quarter turns on the handle and also did twitches. This lure casts far, it does helicopter but I added a split ring and swivel to lessen the line twist. I did swim it and after a couple twitches....BAM! Hooked a nice 2-3lb bass! Notice the stripes on its side, look ls to me like a Florida strain largemouth. Both the size 4 Owner table hooks pinned the bass real good.
Now I have confidence with glide baits and will be pulling out my other 1oz Ima and G-Ratt glides.
I noticed the bass were not hitting my shallow crankbaits, so this time around I switched it up and it paid off!
I gotta say, that was fun!

Re: Glide Bait - My 1st Bass On This Lure
Congrats! That first swimbait fish is always a confidence booster. I've caught several 13" fish on a Jackall Mikey Sr in one afternoon, then catch a 9.75# fish on the same lure in the same pond. They either hit it out of anger or fear. No way are they trying to actually eat it! Btw, the Sr. is 6.4" and 2 oz.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

I see you have a swivel snap on the lure... I learned the hard way to do the same because the line twist is just ridiculous
very encouraging catch..
