What's your preference lubricating fresh water spinning reel bearings... oil or light grease?

90wt gear oil, the same stuff I use on baitcaster frame and handle bearings. Smooth as grease, but a lot easier to get clean when servicing.

What is Boron Nitride powder and why?

I've used 90wt oil in the past... was OK but not a lot different in smoothness than reel oil I've use. thanks

I inject grease into the bearings with a micro syringe, just enough to cover the balls. Less is more when it comes to greasing bearings.
