Diawa cork knobs on Conquest DC handle?

Post by dhuie » Tue Jan 09, 2007 10:22 pm

Has anyone done this? Esp gurus like ChuckE or D.R.

A few weeks ago, after swapping out the original handle of my 201 DC to a Bassart handle (I kept the original knobs on) I put the DC handle onto my Scorpion 1001. I notice that the knob shaft and securing nut was different. In a bit of curiousity I took a set of Diawa cork knobs and viola they fit! (with some very minor tweeks with washers). Seemed fine.

Sunday last I took it out and it fished well, came back and took it apart to see if there were any chaffing or damage or if the securing nut had worked loose...none :D

That saved me afew bucks as I was about to order a longer handle for the scorpion.

Anyone done this before?

Cheers

They do fit sorta not great but you can use em they just arent 100%. If you want it perfect and the way it should be you need this.

either one of the first two handles they have a daiwa knob shaft and the standard shimano mounting hole.
