One-stop shopping for reel parts (?)

Post by kingsriverrat » Wed Jan 10, 2007 8:44 pm

Can anyone suggest a few web retailers who are one-stops for reel parts (gears, shafts, bearings, handles and knob grips, etc.), with (preferably) modern stock, custom, and vintage part availability?

Google didn't seem to be a lot of help on this one :( :?

(Boy, if you want parts for Penn, though, no problem there on the web). :|

riverrat,
You didn't say what reels you were interested in, so I'll get somewhat generic....

A one-stop shop for all reels is pretty hard to find, since some manufacurers have elected to limit distibution of parts. So, without going directly to the manufacturer (do a search on Google for Daiwa Service, Shimano Service, Quantum, etc.), there aren't many that cover a lot of different reels and maintain stock. However, here are some that may be worth trying:

Southwestern Parts at:http://southwesternparts.com/frames.asp for many of the major brands

Sea Isle at:http://www.seaisle-tackle.com/service.cfm for Penn, Abu and Shimano, and uncommon Daiwa parts.

Bucko's Parts and Tackle Service at:http://www.buckosparts.com/ for Penn, Daiwa and Abu parts.

Mikes Tackle at: http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/index.php?cPath=21 for Penn, Daiwa, Okuma, Mitchell, Abu,and Shimano parts.

Chuck
