Which grease for knob bearings or oil?

Which grease should I use for knob bearings Super Lube, Berkley, Ardent, or Hot Sauce? Or do I use oil? I have used oil in the past but was wondering if grease is better because of the function of a knob?

Basically a personal choice. I use oil as I like the see the knobs spin freely (and use Ardent oil). Others choose to use grease as it makes the reel appear to operate more smoothly. Really no right or wrong on this question

Only caution, if you are using oil with cork knobs..I wouldn't recommend Hot Sauce. It can stain the cork (trust me, I know

). Same may be true if you use the Hot Sauce grease.

I like to use oil also.....Yellow Rocket Fuel.

I'm still stuck on the Sauce. The Red one. It's Hot. HaHa. Hot Sauce oil for my handle bearings.

I use oil on reels that doesn't need constant cranking and grease on the crankbait/jerkbait/spinnerbait setups.

x2 I now have cork knobs that look a little pinkish.

I love the sauce, but don't use it for knobs.

I grease the knob bearings. Personally, they feel smoother and more in tune with the reel instead of spinning freely and fast. The only thing I care in terms of speed are the spool bearings.

Honestly, it's just a matter of personal preference.

I'm an oiler for the knobs.

I might move away from the Quantum stuff due to discoloring...before it happens to me.

I like hot sauce on NON CORK HANDLES...

ZPI FO OIL on any handle is killer..
