Daiwa bearing differences ?

Post by EFed » Sat Mar 05, 2011 2:04 am

Is there a diff in the all silver colored bearing say found in the sol as opposed too the black and silver spool bearing found in the zillion ? Are they rated differently ? Or is there no difference at all ?

Thx

Eric

That's correct. The black bearings are CRBBs.

I don't believe the manufacturers reveal that information, but the general view is that most standard reels come with ABEC 3 spool bearings. The Japanese have a different rating process for bearings, which complicates comparisons.

The black one is CRBB, I was told that most Daiwas either come with ABEC1-3's.
How about the ones with the copper colored shields? I know they are Daiwa's but can't remember which reel they are from.

I can tell you they are not from a zillion, fuego or sol.

I was wondering about the copper shields too, I got a pixy spool a while back that had one, my other 2 pixy spools had the stainless sheilds.

I have a red Pixy... is yours red as well, if that's the case my bearings probably came from that. Or... maybe a Daiwa Alphas 103?

I do have a red pixy but it came w/ the black spool. All were 3 black pixy spools.
