T3 spool.......

Post by e_bassfisher » Thu Feb 16, 2012 5:41 pm

works INCREDIBLY well in a steez! yep, that's right, i said incredible! i have been testing this for a few days, and had a few others test this out as well. we all experienced SUPER long casts coupled with a VERY high level of control......stunning performance!

now, i share almost ever scrap of reel tuning/tinkering/repair knowledge i gather or discover; i almost kept this one to myself!!! yeah, it is that good!

NOTE: the steez spool will not, at least according to my own findings, work well in the t3. the spool shaft on the steez is ~.3 mm longer...apparently, this minute amount is just enough to greatly impede the spool rotation when inserted into the t3.

also, thanks to everyone who also tested this and shared results with me.

wow, thanks for sharing. Going by same logic, a ryoga 1016 spool should work jolly well with the steez 100?

Will the T3 spool work in a Zillion, Fuego and TD-Z100M? 8-[

the o.d. of the spools you mention are quite a lot bigger....but the shaft length and spool width are close. so....it MIGHT would work, but it would require some shims to make up for the difference in o.d. of the spool lips

bstuckey,
I don't believe so since a Steez spool is not a great fit in those reels.

BUT I think it means a T3 spool should work well in a TDZ and JDM Air Metal (?)

What is so special about the T3 spool that makes it so incredible?

T3 and Ryoga 1016 shared the same spool, i have tried that when I still have the T3...there is a "RCS1016" printed on the T3 spool if you would notice, the same for Ryoga 1016.

Hmm, I dun have a steez but i shall try tinkering with swapping the Ryoga 1016 spool or RCS1012 spool in my TD-Ito 103 and TDZ 103 Type R+

thanks for the heads up =D>

Good stuff guys, I knew there would be a diameter difference in regards to the 100M/Fuego/Zillion and was thinking about the shims. I might have to pick up a spool or 2, anyone have any idea on cost of a T3 spool and availability. Once again, thanks.

Thanks for sharing Ian. Great discovery! I don't want to ask too much, but whenever someone has the time, I'd love pics of the T3 and Steez 100/103 side by side for comparison. Also T3 spool spool weight please!! Thanks!

Will the T3 spool fit a Luna 103?
