Want to dress up an Amber Orange and Airy Red Pixy and Purple Alphas with the Semperfi swept cf's, where would be the best place to get the colored swept stars and the colored end caps for the knobs, I will use original Daiwa clear corks. Any suggestons on color combos to go with the above reels?

This solve your problem if others can't.

ty, little busy lately. many people feel shy to drop us a mail ask technical questions, second problem is they don't know where to locate our replies in their mail box. Any one have any questions do feel free to ask here.

And about Shimano Swept, reproduction are on it's way, I counter the problem for Aldebaran mg mg7 and core to use Swept without changing star drag. All new Shimano Swept CF will include a handle collar helps saving some dollars, and original star drag stop rubbing on handle when you adjust drag, 2 bird with 1 stone. :)

All the full sky blue Parts on reel are DIY anodized
( The red parts on black reel are sensitive due to under development reel, my buddy advised me to remove, sorry )

I started playing with DIY anodizing after saw a video :
http://www.observationsblog.com/4/post/ ... -acid.html

Sodium Bisulfate, NaHSO4, AKA Sodium Hydrogen Sulfate : Swimming Pool Chemical - pH down AKA Dry Acid
Sodium Hydroxide. NaOH : drain cleaner or lye
RIT liquid dye : I didn't buy this but I bought traditional crystal dye powder and mixed my own dye

1 chemical not mentioned in video that I am using: Critic Acid ( food class )

After finish every step, I rub my parts with PTFE oil adding extra seal to protect surface.

Wana try ?

Original Stock Star Drag file to swept
( felt kinda stupid now after found out just use a handle collar will solve the problem )

Im going to try and gather all I need to attempt this and try some of the same parts that you did.

Im assuming you did all of the parts at one time?

I can always replace drag stars and tension knobs if things go south.

Star Drag 1 attend got it right. Cap 2 attend. Anodizing are adding layers, if you over dye on your parts, dip in Sodium Hydroxide again and remove anodized layer. Another tip is polish surface after de-anodized that will add some shinny effect after anodized, wash with detergent/de-greaser and dip in critic acid for a couple of second to make sure no grease/oil left over on parts, then drop in to anodize.

Already gave you a compass, so heading south are rather not very possible now.

Easy color DIY anodizing : Red, Dark Blue, Black
Hard color DIY : Purple, Gold, Sky Blue

Purple tends to go magenta if dye temperature not right
Cold Gold Dye don't bite in cell
Sky Blue need good control of dying time

Be the force with you ......... :)

Side by side Semper Fi handles blows away a recent player on the scene. Thickness is thinner and width is narrower. Weight difference of 4.7 grams lighter and the use of a knockoff nut retainer. Who knows maybe sourced from the same vendor in Asia. :big grin:

Will buy more of them after seeing in person.

BTW thanks for the anodizing trick. \:D/
