I'm getting ready to make a purchase from Cabela's and I think I'm gonna get some Quantum Hot Sauce with it since I have heard lots of good things about it. My question is, do you guys use both the grease and oil? Or just one? If you use both, where do you put it?

I use both and have the hot sauce. I like the stuff and it is better than some lubes ive used for my inline skates. I use the oil for the bearings and the grease for the gears and stuff that moves. Use very little though! :D
There is another brand that is yellow rocketfuel or something on cabelas that people talk about on here that ive never tried. Might want to ask about that stuff too.

I have been using hotsauce and it works extremely well. I am now trying a product called miltech-1

It is used on military firearms, I am trying it on an old reel encase it does not go well.

I found Yellow Rocket Fuel to be ~eh~, over-rated. The oil you get in Team Daiwa reels is very good. I'm working on getting another lube that is supposedly the best available.

well, here is my take on the oil. The yellow rocket oil has proven to be the best performer thru the years. There have been detailed analysis done by chemists and the YRO came out on top as the best overall oil.
We use the Yro on bearings. For a rust inhibitor ,we use Reel X and for grease we use Super Lub e. Remember this, grease the gears , oil the bearings. With fishing reels, a little bit is good, alot does nothing but get splattered inside of reel. apply the grease to base of meshing teeth. On bearings, one drop of oil. I'm not saying other products are bad, I just am sharng 13 years of experience with what I know to be good products. conniek

How go you guys clean the old oil/grease off? I'm gonna be putting this on my Daiwa TDA and I haven't oiled since I bought it so it still has the factory lube.

If you clean regularly, a sonic vibrator and mineral oil are great! If you only clean one or two times per year, lighter fluid, tooth brush, and Q-tips will suffice. If you use heavier grease cutters, you are liable to melt some plastic on some reals or ruin a finish. Clean, then dry completely! Then oil and grease lightly as Connie says. I have found it best to use a small acid brush to apply grease to gears. Remember to use a very light grease application on drag washers. I have the hot sauce and think it may be a little thin but I used it this time and will see how it works. From all the reports on the yellow rocket fuel, I don't think you could go wrong with it!

Not yet but i will try some one of these days.

Right now the best combo for me is YRF and Shimano Ace Cozmo drag grease.

Not familiar with it but Sandman like's it:

Customer Comment: " Sandman commented that maybe you had some Friction Zero Oil from ZPI.... I got one as a gift from a Japanese friend of mine... what I can say until now is that his stuff is great!! The "reel spool" in my reels with FO oil is better than Rocket fuel or Reel-X."
Quantity: 123 Price $16.99 SOLD OUT

I find the yellow rocket fuel too thin and evaporates too quickly resulting in micro-grit residue, especially apparent on worm gear and level wind. This fast evaporation reduces the effectiveness as a lubricant.
