Has anyone measured the spool width and diameters of the 3 new gen Shimano LPs?
It could prove interesting as there are a variety of 3rd party spools becoming available for the metanium.

Haven't measured them, but it's my understanding that spools for the three will not interchange.

Highly likely as in time all models may come in 50,100,150,200 etc..much like the previous gen.facelessnewsouth wrote:Haven't measured them, but it's my understanding that spools for the three will not interchange.
For now I guess we could just choose models depending on spool depth needed and go met + avail/KTF if required.

the chronarch CI4+ spool will fit inside a 13metanium and seems to work fine. here's what it looks like:
however, the reverse is not true: the 13met spool does not fit inside a chronarch CI4+. the dimensions are nearly identical:
but, here's the problem:
the 13met spool has a step on the shaft that is thicker than the chronarch's

That's good news as the Avail honeycomb and shallow spool appears not to have that extra step...certainly worth a try.
