Daiwa TWS Zillion

Post by BARRAMANIAC » Fri Dec 19, 2014 11:48 am

Just a few observations as I recently recieved a new Zillion and as a tinkerer I pulled it apart even before fishing it. So here's a few things.
The drag star uses the shimano style system with the nut seperate to the star , the star has a square recess for the nut to seat in with a spring between nut and star.
There is one bearing on the level wind , another can be added it is a 4x7x2.5 , the spool bearings are 5x11x4 and 3x10x4 in the side plate
The cast control cap is the same as the z 2020 and is swapable, could also use a ryoga 2020 CCC,
To add a regular zaion drag star reqires more spacers under the star as it will foul on the frame.
The handle has one bearing per knob, another can be added,
Spool is very close in width to a z2020 spool but smaller in diameter, and spool shafts are different lengths.

Feel free to any any other observatios,

Possibly but may need spacers as I believe the morethan spool is a smaller diameter than the zillion.

jun just confirmed that the Morethan spool will not fit without spacers. So much for an SV spool. The Morethan is 34mm dia. and the Zillion is 36mm dia.
