I've only seen one ZPI spool that's a true fit for the Zillion/100m frame. It's what I call the "big brother" of the Blue Emblem and seems to be significantly more rare. It's very nice

Not sure, but it's definitely not a deep spool... I'll try to find time to post a pic side by side with a Blue Emblem. On trying to find one, good luck, you'll need itTeal101 wrote:Whats the line capacity on that spool? Got my Blue Emblems! But I do have a question, why does one have a bearing on both ends? They both still have an additional bearing included with the paperwork.

I don't think it should Maybe the bearing clip holding the magnetic breaking bearing was missing and it got stuck on the spool instead of being in the reel.RMCatchNrelease wrote:Got my Blue Emblems! It was a long day of air travel yesterday so I didn't even pull out the tweezers. I will see of the bearing comes off easily later today.

Re: ZPI MG spool upgrade (daiwa)
My understanding is that the gold inductor spools came with two SiC ball bearings (one installed, one for sideplate), while the silver inductors had stainless BB's.Good351 wrote:Ya, I noticed that too.. Another odd thing about the spools: some have gold inductors and some have silver. And still yet some of the gold inductors are have holes while all the silver ones and some gold ones are solid. I think it has to do with their age. My guess is the silver inductor models are earliest, solid gold are phase 2 and the ported gold are final phase.africanbass wrote: Very nice
Your Grand prix Tiger has no stripes
No clue on the difference between the ported and non-ported gold ones

Looks great but I found my 1016(LIN spool) casts further than my RC-001. Time for new bearing?

Re: ZPI MG spool upgrade (daiwa)
I have been playing around with the TD-Z platform and the Blue emblem ZPI spool. I have come to find that for my casting it is simply the best reel/spool combo I have. I was amazed in it's ability to bomb heavy baits without fear of any fluff or backlash. Yesterday I spooled up my second blue emblem with #8 red lebel floro and tied on a 1/12oz fish arrow jig head and 3" ez shiner. Paired with the 6'5" shimano Cumulus I had a 8.6oz smallie killer. I was casting hard into the wind with that light bait and got more than enough distance, again without any fluff or backlash. I have tossed this same bait and line on my PX68R and although distance is similar, the PX68 is much more finicky and likely to fluff up.
I caught 20 or so smallmouth and it was a dream.
