Worm gear bushing to bearing upgrade help

Post by MaxZmus » Mon Jun 22, 2015 2:29 pm

I was wondering if a Chronarch50/51Mg will take a bearing in the worm gear. First of all, how do you guys remove the E-clip to remove the worm gear in the first place? Does it require some special tool? I'm having the hardest time with this part.

Thanks.

I always use a wide flat head screwdriver to push the clip out (one wide enough to touch both ends of the eclip), and then take a tiny flathead screwdriver, put it in the gap between the eclip, twist the screwdriver so that it pushes out against the clip and releases it. Hope that makes sense.

This is a great post on removing e-clips.
