Which reels are the gen 4 and gen 3 spools compatible? I just found out the hard way that some gen 3 spools aren't compatible. The Deez IVCB spool for gen 3 Elite 7/8 does not fit the gen 3 MGX. Same diameter but the MGX spool is like 3 mil more narrow. 2011 gen 3s aren't compatable with 2013 gen 3 spools by the looks of it.

I wanted the IVCB from the MGX to convert the Elite IB7 to IVCB for the Deez spool and to use the IB7 dual brake on the MGX along with a Ray's or Momo spool for UL BFS. As it turns out I should be able to convert the IB no problem but I can't use a Ray's or the stock Elite IB spool in the MGX because they are too wide. So I just ordered a $100 Avail spool for my $100 used MGX. ](*,) :crying:
MGX Is in the same as the LX-ALT series. Not compatible with the SX-STX-PRM. As you found the MGX has a narrow width spool. This chart is a good assist in spool selection. :)

So It's the 33 X 27.3 spools that are compatible with 4th gen reels?
Yes.
What about the ALX?

Pretty sure they use a 32mm spool, But I don't own one. Measure the spool OD and width would be your best bet!!

Hello, Friends!
Just received spool for Steez. Wrote a small note with pictures about it, if you interest: http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=80168

Suddenly, the old mag Morrums became a bit more interesting.
I hope that they will also make spools for the Morrums with centrifugal brakes.

Won't ship to America, at least for now what Aliexpress said to me. That was a good find, some brand new ALX Revo's were going really cheap.

T3 Air and SS SV Light spools. They are the new style honeycomb spools with the ray's air brake.

The above pictured Honeycomb style is what my Zillion SV TW 1016 BFS spool looks like. It is not the older style round hole porting. Been good so far, still has some extra noise though, but casts great for BFS style with 8lb Sufix 832 and UL casting rod.

That spool also fits the Alphas Air. I will likely order one in black, as an option for the Alphas Air and SS Air reels that are in my rotation.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

The 1016 one I ordered was 8 grams with bearing. I need a better scale to give me decimals/fractions, but it kept going to 8, just about like Aliexpress claimed.

New Momo spools for Black Max 3. These have a stainless shaft and are a short shaft 'super free' type design. The older spool had a full length aluminum shaft. I have the old aluminum shaft spool and it is a good UL performer with a bearing upgrade. The old spool was 9.5 grams with bearning.
