Also clear colored plastic Daiwa I style knobs from AMO. I want that aluminum thumb bar on that example TDZ.

Did you end up getting the thumb bar? I have the KDW on my 20 Metanium. Love how my thumb sits right on the spool. Want to get one of these AMO for my 20 Alphas Air and 20 tatula. Not sure they fit with the description listed.

The thumbar is a decent fit, the td size one screws to the thumbar cam instead of having the cam go through the thumbar like the original. Color is slightly off from other brand parts but overall a good cheaper alternative.
If you get it, put a bit of light loctite on the screws

TD Zillion Amo spool. I have two of the 34mm spools and they are great in my old Steez. They do both power and finesse real well. Definitely going to nab one of these for my IP reels as a braid spool. https://m.pt.aliexpress.com/item/100500 ... b94&gclid=

I have one of those inbound - in black - for use in my Steez A HLC...well actually purchased the spool first (along with a similar one in silver, ebay seller) and discovered I had no reel for the spool. Digitaka helped me with the reel 😄

How does it stack up to the ZPI spools?

I have received the silver version from ebay seller and await the black Amo - they look very similar if not the same with fixed inductor as ZPi.
Initial impression of the silver spool is very good - as in ZPI good - having used it for test casting with braided line and a 1/4 casting plug. Will use the spool chasing salmon this coming saturday.

Have you spooled it up? Curious to know how of what line you got on it

Yes, I spooled it with 0.20 mm J-Braid (PE 2, 29 lbs and 13 kg for any trans-atlantic line confusion).
Got a decent amount of line on the spool, >100 m or so.
I have used it test-casting in my backyard. Worked liked a charm.
Tomorrow I may use it for river fishing after salmon.

Very nice spool. Effortless long casts with the 3/8-3/4 oz lures I used today. Fast but not prone to backlash (had none). Quiet bearing, no noise. Today, I liked it better than stock Steez A HLC spool.

Interesting. Wouldn't think it would have enough capacity for anything close to 3/4 oz approaching far for distance. Did you use a really small diameter braid?

Also both my 34mm Amo spools get spooled with a frog but ultimately cast shorter than my TD Zillion HLC spool. I am a US anger and we cast pretty hard though.

I used the 2.0 PE line as mentioned 😊 It is relatively thin and thinner than what I understand many US anglers use on baitcasters. Auction site tells me capacity is 100 m of 2.0 PE - but I think I got a bit more than 100 m without overfilling the spool. My longest casts were maybe 50-60 meters - sorry for wide interval - and I certainly did not get spooled. More aerodynamic lures, less “headwind” and more tinkering with settings and perhaps I could go >70 meter casts.

Not bad if that is roughly a 40lb US brand equivalent. I found my 34mm Amos to spool themselves with 40 lbs braid and a frog and ultimately cast shorter than my TD Zillion HLC. Really great at below 1/2 oz though. They also didn't like hard casts the way the HLC spool did but did like gently casting motions that would blow up the HLC.
