Any of you guys try lithium based grease for your reels?? Just wondering if it's safe and long lasting.

Don't go there, Max. I'm sure it's safe enough but not ideal for high performance applications.

Years ago I contacted one of the bigger reel companies on what they recommend for gear grease.
The person I spoke to on the phone said they only recommend their lubricants, but then went on to tell me that DuPont makes a Lithium/Teflon grease that works just as well as the stuff they sell.
After I got off the phone with him I ordered the grease he recommended. That was a big mistake! That stuff was horrible! Within a week of using it I cleaned it out of every reel I put in. So long story short, I would stay away from it.

Stay with SuperLube and you cannot go wrong. Not on drag washers however, only drag grease on them.
