ZPI BFC 732 spool question

Post by Jayce » Mon Dec 05, 2016 7:10 pm

A buddy's 1001xt with a ZPI 732 spool was always backlashing and asked me to help since
He knows i tinker with reels. He said it was casting nicely a week before.

I casted it and sure enough it was backlashing.
Checked magnet settings - Correct orientations.
No change even on highest brake setting.

Used my stock spool and it casted nicely.
Used my own zpi spool again it casted nicely.

Checked his zpi spool and noticed the black disc was moving mine wasn't.
I gently lifted it and sure enough it was completely off.

Is this the problem ?
Need inputs before I glue this to the spool.

Thanx

That is definitely the issue. More than likely what's happening is the magnet is holding that plate as the spool spins, hence why you are seeing zero change between brake settings.

Thank bro.

Any other BFC 732 owners there to help check if their spool's disc ( black color ) is securely glued on the shaft.
TIA

Glued it
Will test it after drying overnight

if the disc is moving on the spool, there is literally no braking. the glue, should it hold, will repair the issue
