TD-Ito spool in a T-wing reel...
Has anyone tried the TD-Ito spool in the T-wing SV Zillion (or t-wing steez) yet?
When the zillion tw sv product videos were coming out, this one caught my attention-
https://youtu.be/NW82zFwyQf4
@ 2:53-3:20, He goes into spool rotation, and that the big advantage of the T-wing is with lightweight high rpm spools, that the T-wing reduces backlash due to the line being able to leave the spool faster and reduced hard angles, which also enables the spool to spinner faster/longer.
This got me thinking... Given that the Ito spool is the fastest spool, and considered 'wild' due to how fast line comes off it and the friction from traditional line guides causing it to bunch up/backlash... It seems like the Ito spool could really shine in a T-wing system.
Has anyone tried it yet?

I have not tried it but I imagine it would be a pitching machine.

That's a hell of an idea spooky... I have extra TD-Ito spools as well as Steez and Zillion SV TW reels. I'll give that a shot in the relatively near future. Hopefully some other guys will give it a try too.

This is exactly why I bought my first Steez TW. I have a 105 ito spool that I have in it and can't wait to try it out this spring. Should be killer!

Yes and its great! Probably my new favorite pitching reel. Not a lot of extra distance, but very easy pitching...as long as you have a decent thumb.spookybaits wrote:Have you got a chance to try it yet?pharmboy2010 wrote:This is exactly why I bought my first Steez TW. Right on!
Have you tried overhead casting? Wonder what the distance gains are when bombing
