Why are there so few options for extended handles for Shimano? Everything I've seen is stupid expensive.

Not sure how long you're looking for but Shimano's new XG gear ratio reels like the Met MGL/Chronarch MGL come with longer handles. You can order them right from Shimano's site https://fishshop.shimano.com/vip/landing.jsp#
Or better yet complete 96mm handles from The Tackle Trap. http://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_pa ... 39a8e56f11
