Td fuego

Post by Jdw2920 » Tue Jun 04, 2019 7:54 pm

Who super tunes the fuego I had one done a few years ago and love it. Looking to buy one and have it worked over. What are some good carbon swept handles that don’t break the bank. 60-75 range.

I have one with a zillion spool upgraded handle and knobs
And zillion type R drag star Ian tuned it and it cast superbly. I was think About putting a PE special spool in another one with other upgrades but haven’t just yet. They are as good or better than the TDZ only drawback being spool options
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible

Spanky at the Tackle Trap can help. The BassZone handles on fleabay are $55 shipped and are pretty nice. As spools go, the stock spool from the TDZ 100M is an excellent addition to the OG Fuego, but they are hard to find now.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Here is one of my Fuego tunes with a Tatula handle that is a little over 20 bucks. You won't save any weight with a carbon handle. They look nice though! This one has SLPWorks Super High Grip knobs, 5.7 gears, a TDZ100M spool, a level wind bearing, 4 handle bearings, carbontex drag washers, and an SLPWorks drag star. I use it as a deep cranking reel. I wouldn't exactly call the upgrades cheap though! ;)

The Basszone handles are nice and look like the RCS Daiwa carbon handles. You can get even cheaper handles off Aliexpress but I like the look of the Basszone handles. You can also get shallow lightweight spools for the reel if you want to throw lighter weights or use it for pitching. They have an Air Brake like the SV spools but with thinner tapered inductors. The run about $50 on Aliexpress or $60 on Ebay.

HLC spools pop up from time to time for around $100 or under TYD. I picked one up recently for my IP68 and love it. It will dump a full spool for 65# braid in an instant throwing a frog.

Thank you. I found a handle just have to get a star and other parts. I’ll start hunting one the spools. What all spools will actually fit this platform? I found a box with a black spool I believe came from a zillion Type r I bought off here a few years ago.

Any spool that fits a TD Zillion reel. That Type R spool will work.

See if it fits. If you're lucky it will be a 36mm spool. If not it will be a 34mm spool and will not be useable due to line getting in the 2mm gap. The spool you have is from a TD-Z and they came in both 34mm and 36mm spool versions.

Pop it in and see if it fits. You'll be able to tell right away if it will fit or not. If you see a gap around the spool and frame then it is a 34mm spool and will not work without spacers that are basically impossible to find or cost prohibitive.
