Deeper spool for Bantam MGL?

Looking for more line capacity- Spooled with 30# Fireline Ultra 8 it only holds about 60 yards and i know a salmon is going to spool me any day..............
Our tradition is that of the first who sneaked away to the creek when tribe did not really need fish

That doesn't sound right, it should hold more then 60 yards of 30lb fireline.... :-k

How much backing do you have on the reel?

Doesn't sound rite at all, I have 70yds of Sunline Stuter 70 lb. with backing on my Bantam flipping reel.

i have over 140 yards of 30lb braid on mine.... not sure how you get 60 yards

Just measured- 57 yards. 7 yards of 12# backing.
Ultra 8 30# dia- .015

0.15 dia is like 50lb sunline briad.

Did you buy it new? If not, maybe the reel came with an aftermarket shallower spool to begin with....?

Either put good 30lb braid that isnt .015 diam, or drop to a thinner line.

Its huge!
Problem solved- Removed the line and taking it out of commission to send in and see if the clutch can be made easier to depress. Sweet reel- probably my favorite for now but have not had a chance to take out the new morethan PE.
