Is it better to run Carbontex drag washers dry ?

There is a lot of info in this forum if you use the search window. Generally speaking, fishing them dry will be more likely to keep them from slipping on heavy hooksets with bottom contact baits (punch, texas rig). A small amount of grease is fine if you want them to break free a little easier on hooksets with moving treble hook baits (cranks, topwater).

Agree.
