Re: Lower gear ratio for SS Air
If a larger fish surges, the drag should slip to compensate. If it doesn't, the clicker is a quick indicator to drop your rod tip and back off on the drag quickly, so you don't lose the fish.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Thanks, but like I said, my thumb does that.

Well plat said they couldn't get those parts for me. I guess I will have to look elsewhere for them. Maybe tackle trap will respond eventually.

The 6.3 Steez SV gears will drop right in, but you will also need the Pixy drag stack from the Tackle Trap. Your reel has a single-washer drag system. The gears are indeed available from Daiwa for $42(just apoke to them), but Spanky can order them and then the carbontex drag kit is $17. If you plan to keep the reel, that $60 is worth spending imho.

Yes, sorry, I know him by Spanky. His name is Bryan. He is their in-
house reel tech.

I talked to Bryan earlier today. He sent Daiwa an email and was waiting on a reply, but I talked to Daiwa customer service right after that. They confirmed the gear availability. $20 and change for the pinion gear and $22 and change for the main gear. Don't forget to request the "TT10" discount for 10% off your order at the Tackle Trap.
