G1 1016 Spool

Post by white84z » Wed May 06, 2020 5:12 pm

I recently picked up a G1 1016 spool for an OG steez. I'm not sure if something else is going on but this spool feels very choked when trying to freespool, even with ceramic bearings. Do these spools behave differently in the newer reels or is this normal?

Is this an SV spool? If so then this is normal. They are meant to be run with zero spool tension and even a tiny bit of side to side play.

It is an sv spool. I originally had the sv103 spool in it and with the spool tension all the way off and brakes on 0 I couldn't backlash it if I tried. That same spool in my tdz is actually pretty fast.

I don't like much sv brakes, because those has sometimes issues and if not, still those doesn't feel sporty..

But does inductor move and turn smoothly, and not over turn and get stucked?
