Amazing work, makes me wish I didn't squander my childhood where I could have learned this stuff.

Those who run TDZ spools in their CVZs, what spools do you like?
I have a Ringa SSS modded to allow 34mm spools and I have tried a couple. On my reel atleast, I can't use spools with too long of an inductor as it will rub. A stock sv103 spool, a ZPI PG, and (I believe) a stock Steez A spool were all a no-go. Otherwise, I have tried the following looking mainly for distance.

RCS 1012sv - Great distance and control, but obv pretty shallow

Stock Zillion SV - Good all around distance and control, but less distance then the 1012sv

Stock TDZ - A bit wild, but my thumb is lazy from fishing mostly SV spools, so it might be fine.

sv103 spool w/ an Alphas SV inductor on it - The best distance, very free casting and enough control so long as I don't get cocky.
Thanks Drew. It's never too late! I've been in one form of construction/maintenance/operations most of my life but have only been playing around with a lathe maybe, the last 3-4 months. I'm just lucky enough to have access to this kind of stuff.

Glad to hear you've played around with some spools in that platform. I still have a few spools to run. A RC-002 (if it fits), a Zillion Sv, Ray's long cast PE special, NRC-002. I just sold my last sv103 spool, maybe I should have tried that too.

Anyone machining the boss down on one of these reels will get a free punch in the face from yours truly. Really, no charge at all. :D

Well, my arm can't reach from Chicago to Maryland, so I think you're safe for now.

Looks good man! I can't argue with those results. :-# :-#

Finally caught one on the reel. I think this ZPI PG spool is the winner.

Bump...does the ZPI PG work in Millionaire platforms without any mods? I read the inductor may be too long?

I never had any issues. I have the long pinion shaft installed though.

Kool, good to know the PG inductor isn't an issue. I know that the T3 is funky and will not properly accept certain spools like OG TDZ 34 mm, Steez Limited 105SV, and ZPI PG. I have found that these spools do not allow the sideplate to close properly on the T3 1016.

The ZPI PG absolutely doesn't sit correctly in the Ito 100XRL...Ian says it needs to have mods done to accept the spool, not just the t-pinion shaft.

True, but iirc, the ZPI M spool will work with the longer t-yoke.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

That may be an option, although I don't like using braid with round reels due to the line angle and shorter distance of the line guide to spool.
