Bearings

Post by Jeffbro999 » Tue Sep 08, 2020 8:50 am

Need to restock some bearings and haven’t looked around at prices in awhile. Where can I find some good deals on quality stainless frame bearings. Looking for some 10 packs or other bulk deals. Thanks!

Since no one could answer this question, which definitely surprised me as we have lots of expert reel techs on here, I’ll share the answer I found. EBay had the best prices by far. Find what you want and message the seller and see if they can give a better deal. Great bearings as well.

Are those EBay bearings better than stock?
I seen some offers for $1 per bearing, can’t really trust those.
For frame bearings in my reels I buy Boca ABEC 5, spool bearings usually Hedgehog Hybrids.

Can’t say I notice any difference between them and factory bearings, a quality stainless steel ABEC1 bearing is all that is needed for frame bearings. Definitely shop around, it’s worth it to pay a little more. Still much cheaper than from the manufacturer. My reels and most of the ones I work on are used in the salt, so I add some grease and they have been very smooth and no rust.
