Metanium MGL 16 problem
Hi all, any ideas why my met 16 mgl stopped freespooling. I can disengage the spool, spool will freespool but it feels like theres something slowing it down, my brakes are off and even with the cast control knob loose it still does not spin fast

Recently serviced or no?
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Re: Metanium MGL 16 problem
Lube got into the inside 'hole' of the pinion gear? Does the long spool shaft look like it's got grease on it?

Before you send it back, break it down and clean out all the old lube as best you can, wipe down the spool shaft, and then relube lightly.Salty Parrot wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 8:42 amSpool pin is center, I think I might just send it to Shimano lol, I can't figure out whats wrong with it
Reassemble and test.
It will only cost you some time, and it may solve the problem.
