Boost Shallow Spool
Boost Shallow Spool
Really hoping they make this spool available. I don't know anyone who has used one, and don't know the stats either, but I would like to know if anyone has news on this. Would like to sell my Zillion SVTW spool, move the Zillion 1000 Boost to my SS/SV, and use the Shallow Boost in my new Zillion...

Re: Boost Shallow Spool
Have seen recently the shallow sv boost spool has been released. from what i can tell it is the same spool as in the Silverwolf.
I have said in another post it is a long casting spool that requires more braking dialled in to keep it under control. and choice of bearings makes a big difference. Having tried it with a set of hedgehog red bfs bearings makes it really fast with effortless casting
But have found its sweet spot for me is around that 1/2 ounce range and the spool behaves better with this weight. havent really tried heavier weights as I use my regular zillion SV boost spools for that.

Re: Boost Shallow Spool
Went back to search for this thread and realized the spool hadn't gotten tried yet. That being said, has anyone had a chance to try the SV Boost 1000 Shallow? It should be the same spool that comes with the new Steez SVTW limited, not the PE specific version found in the Silverwolf...
Re: Boost Shallow Spool
The shallow spools are available as far as I know.

I only have the 103 capacity Boost Spool.

I would think that the shallow one would just be a little less capacity and have an easier start up because of less added weight from line.

Re: Boost Shallow Spool
Isn't that the standard 1000 boost spool? It weighs 2 grams more than the 1016SV, and holds the same amount of line, which is more than the 1012SV.toddmc wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 2:36 pmThe shallow spools are available as far as I know.

Re: Boost Shallow Spool
The link that I posted says that both the standard and shallow spools weigh 11g. That may not be correct. My standard boost spool weighs very close to that from what I remember. I was just guessing that both shallow and stand boost spools would perform close to the same because of the same listed weight. The shallow boost spool will probably be next for me because I have too many 103 capacity spools. I know from past posts that you like those other spools. I've been trying a few Ray's, Amo and SV Boost spools lately, but I haven't tried the 1012 or 1016 spools yet to know much about them.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 3:56 pmIsn't that the standard 1000 boost spool?
