Stradic CI4 2500 upgrades?

Just wondering if there are any bearing upgrades available? bushings where bearings can go? any thing would be helpful, thanks guys. Bantam if you can shed some light it would be much appreciated.

not really aside from the knob as far as I know

most effective upgrade would be an upgrade to a sustain/stella/steez spinning

usually we pimp out the BC reels because it increases cast ability as well as smoothness, but you can't really increase the casting distance on a spinning reel

There really isn't anything to upgrade because of the way the reel is made. There isn't enough room to add bearings to the worm shaft. This is the only place that really has bushings.

i put a 3000 handle on my 2500 and i consider that an upgrade, the knob is much better, and it was reasonably priced from shimano for the complete handle...

i gave up on trying to find a bassart or yumeya double handle from JDM, nobody could confirm if it would interchange.

i even wasted about 90 bucks importing a Sephia BB double handle and that didn't work.
i've looked at the drag and i don't know of any vendor that makes an upgrade either...

its about as good as it gets outta the box.

Any good suggestions for a handle swap on the CI4? I want to go back to a septon grip was thinking the handle on the Sustain FE 2500 would be a good choice.

the standard drag on the ci4 2500 is more than capable for bass, walleye, or even pike/muskie.

i landed few large pike and muskie on my reel and it handled it fine, it does have 15lbs of smooth drag!

only upgrades i know would work are new knobs and the end cap opposite of the handle.. not sure of the exact name of it.. atleast those were the only upgrades i was able to do with mine.

any pics of the end cap mod? one of caps fell of my ci4 and am waiting a replacement.

That does look nice. Has anyone ever used a kick-stand before? Is it worth it?

I have one on my shimano Ultegra '05 reel. the tip of the reel stand gets worn but your bail arm stays straight. Note that the stand only works when the rod/reel combo is on a flat surface ie: boat deck and dock

I put the black septon knobs off of the Core 51mg7 on my CI4's and they look and feel sweet!!! Double ball bearing as well. Fit right pn perfect. I think the septon knobs are the best looking and feeling knobs there are, imho.

Thanks Rick for the suggestion. I don't have a Core lying around but I do have the handle off a Chronarch B that is spare. You think that might work? The knobs look very similar.
