Tranx gear swap

I have the 6.4 ratio and would like to try the 4.4 Can I just swap the gear and pinion and are the parts available?
Also have old Calcutta 400 with 4.7 and would like to put the newer 5.1 from the Calcutta B reel is this just a simple
swap? thanks Bantam

I do not have schematics for the Tranx yet and I doubt we see any parts for a while. The demand for production reels is still very high so all parts are commited to that. I would assume all you need is the gear set and possibly drag parts.

I am not sure if the new 400B gear set will work. The set plate is slightly different on the B model and this could be a small change to the location of the drive shaft. The gears may not line up correctly. You are looking at maybe 1" per crank difference by going with 5:1 over 4.7:1.
