Lefty Curado I availability?

Post by NCbigbass » Thu Feb 27, 2014 9:11 am

Bantam,

Was wondering if you could give us an idea of when the Lefty Curado I's would begin shipping? Thank you for your time.

I know I'm not Bantam but I was told at the Classic Expo the lefties wouldn't be available until the first part of April. I'm kinda bummed myself as I'm also waiting on these.

I sold 2 curado 101b's that I didn't have to because I assumed "NOW AVAILABLE" applied to me as well...

Yeah I'm more pissed than a teenager showing up to Foot Locker to get the new "Jordans", and there are none to be had. Lol. But seriously, why all the advertisement of Feb. 21st, if they knew Lefties weren't going to be avail at all, and righties in extremely low quantities. All I can remember reading everywhere was, "In stock and available for purchase on Feb. 21st".

Taking a mulligan on this post. I'm just upset as I thought the LH reels might be available at least in some quantity.

It will be April before we see any lefty models. They always come later with every model. The demand for RH is much more than the LH. I was there for all the orders. Lopsided doesn't even begin to describe how many RH models were ordered.

Yeah, it's not our fault that everybody does it wrong, including most pros. It just sucks that RH people like us who do it right are the red-headed step child of the domestic market...

But who says who you hold a reel is right? I don't switch hands but I'm curious who tells a pro he is doing it wrong :-k

Look on the bright side of this -- there will still be some lefty curado I's available later this month so we can take advantage of the St. Patrick's day sales!

I seriously give you credit bantam1. your patience with shimano is outstanding. you have helped a lot of us with our questions, including myself recently. your an asset to shimano. i'd have thrown in the towel by now.

delaying the left handed reels - is it a materials issue? i mean the tooling is there for both right and left handed models. does the machinery that creates left handed reels sit idle while the right handed machinery pumps out reels? then on an arbitrary day it is decided to turn on the left handed reel production machinery?
