15 Conquest calcutta 200 hg drag

Post by dinosorcerer » Sun Mar 20, 2016 1:17 am

So I have a 100 size and the drag is super smooth and quiet, this prompted my brother to get a 200size. However this, although smooth, is making a clicking noise as if it was a bait clicker. Is this normal? Should this model be making a clicking noises as line gets pulled out?a

The 200 model of these reels does not have a clicking drag. If your brothers one is making a clicking sound, you need to either strip it down and look to see what may be loose, or out of place. If you are not confident, send it to your reel repair man.

These reels are super smooth and quiet when drag is pulled.

Good luck.

Terry.

Hi Zimbass, I understand that 200 size doesn't have clicking drag but according to MRQTurbo, HG version conquests does. Which is odd, my 101HG doesn't. Can you confirm if 200HG does or does not have clicking drag? I will get dismantle the reel tomorrow just in case. Thanks.

The standard Conquest 200 doesn't have this feature. In Japan while they are shallow jigging or slow pitch jigging, they want to hear the drag because of how they fish.

I'm not sure if this can be removed. It's been a while since I have looked inside the HG model (not offered in the US). If my memory is correct, the drag system is where the key washer sits. You might be able to remove the click pin and spring. I just don't remember how the clicker was set up.
