New Antares MGL

The new Antares 70 MGL will start shipping around March. All the same great features as the previous Antares with the addition of the MGL spool and Silent Tune. This also has the latest generation of the SVS Infinity braking system.

Any other ratios in the future? A low gear ratio would be sweet. I bet the high end low ratio is covered with the Conquest

The sales are just too low for left hand models in the US, especially in Antares.

Is this Antares 70MGL's reel body smaller than the new Antares coming out in Japan? Just like how the Curado 70's body is always smaller? Shimano Japan site seems to only have the larger MGL3 spool.

The body is smaller. The model in Japan is the 70 size.

No this reel is for freshwater only like the previous model. Magnesium and plated parts do not get along in saltwater.

I do not have that data yet. I have only played with the prototype and not the production reel. We will not have them until March/April.
