Shimano Calcutta TE100DC -Side Plate Shaft Question

Post by Lowdog » Thu May 09, 2019 5:20 am

Does anyone know if the BNT3069 Side plate shaft on the Shimano Calcutta TE100DC can be interchanged for the side plate shaft on the Shimano Conquest 100? I just prefer the low profile of the flat screw head - it’s more comfortable on my cast and looks cleaner.

Thanks in advance.

The screw that holds the left side plate on the 100DC will not work on the TE. They are different designs due to how the reel functions.

There is no reason for a quick detach/opening side plate on the DC. The TE has this feature to make VBS brake adjustments easier. Since the TE has an external dial, they did not use this feature.

The shaft that is attached to the side plate is glued and held in place with a small set screw. There is no way to change it without damaging the side plate. I suppose you could change the side plate to use that screw, but you will have a hole for the DC dial and its silver in color.
