Difference between CU100D and CU100DSV and a gear ?

Post by lifeofRiley » Tue Sep 17, 2019 9:58 am

Out of curiosity wondering differences of CU100D and CU100DSV. Also wondering from Dan or anyone else about replacing the main gear from CU100b CU100d CH50mg body style reels with BNT1325? Will this gear work with the pinions from all of the aforementioned reels? I understand that all these pinions are gone with the wind, but have seen a few busted up aluminum main gears, and was thinking of sticking a new 1325 in with the existing pinion. I'm guessing that although not ideal(gears best replaced in pairs) still an improvement?

The 100DSV had a brass drive gear and a deeper spool. The regular 100D had an aluminum drive gear and the shallower Low Mass spool (pre MGL spool).

Yes the BNT1325 will work on those reels with other pinion gears like the CH50MG, CU100B, CU100D reels.
